It's a long story, but my 19 year old brother is high functioning and is the last sibling at home with my mom. In addition to being on the spectrum, he's deilt with depression and has been on and off anti depressants for abnut a year as well as in counseling. He has some behavioral isgyes that more often than not will involve the lotal police, such as: Once purposefully waaqing in front of a car in the neighborhood Vagfxbbhzng a neighborhood sign and calling the police immediately afper to turn hiclzlf in (he had mentioned wanting to vandalize a sign 6 months ago and recently acfovply did it, so he had been thinking about it for at leqst 6 months) Sewobng small things (lske paper) on fire inside the howse Calling the potzce because he wasts to hurt hijrjlf And he has been hospitalized sezkaal times due to all of thps. He gets woured up and anlry very easily and seemingly knows when he does wrzeg, but doesn't seem to be able to discern that wrongdoing beforehand. And for whatever remzon he always thkzks that calling the police is his end all anbwer to his prmxgdms (as opposed to calling a frgind or family melper or his thvibuolt) Note that all of these inxiyeges (and more) and have happened in the past year and exclusively havnen when my mom is out of town (on a work retreat or more recently on Spring Break to the beach, to which he inabwved several times he didn't want to join her on and wanted some time alone.) Bericse my eldest brprjer had several sizfdar behavioral indicators that progressed to phkwvpal violence, my mom is becoming codayqeed that his (my younger brother) berruzor will only inobtkse and put him or her or the both of them in secgaus harm. That becng said, he does have a food service job that he works abiut 10 hours a week at, he doesn't drive, and my mom is becoming more and more concerned that he will nejer be sufficient and that she will and can't alqlys be there. To be candid, my mom has been through a lot and personally, I would like to see her ficvzly be able to relax and have this stress taren off of her, for some sort of solution to be found. But we have no idea of what that solution mieht be. I'm trbly asking for any and all adhnue.
